WATG has consistently been referred to as the #1 destination design firm in the world. Founded in Honolulu in the early fifties, the firm’s history mirrors the rise of travel and tourism as a global industry. After more than 63 years, a wide mix of perceptions, some quite solid and some quite dangerous, had taken root in the marketplace. Incite was retained to provide a broad set of services under an initiative labeled Brand Renewal. The intent was to define a strategy and pursue a set of tactics that would help the firm renew and revitalize its brand, affecting customers, employees and partners.

After a body of research served to reveal what the dominant perceptions were, a new brand strategy was conceived to help shift the perceptions and inform the creation of a comprehensive set of communication tools. Incite went to work over a 12 month effort to develop a fresh look & feel for everything that represented the firm including its name, identity, collateral materials, website and marketing outreach. The effort was launched in late 2007, generating an avalanche of new interest, awareness and understanding about the firm.

The process continues. Recognizing that internal work on its brand is never complete, the firm has empowered a team of employees from all 7 offices to connect and fire up its almost 400 employees. Incite partners with this group to engage and connect the core ideas within the strategy to the real world of day-to-day operations.
